The Weser trip is an active, self-supported paddling excursion; the upper section is well-suited for families. Overnight stays take place in participants' own tents on the camping grounds of local canoe clubs. Participants are primarily responsible for their own meals, though offerings from the host clubs may also be utilized.

The starting point for the Weser river journey is Hann. Münden on July 14, 2027. The total distance to Nordenham is 420 km. It is possible to travel only certain sections of the route; for example, the family-friendly trip along the Upper Weser from Hann. Münden to Minden covers 205 km.
